International Litigation Management

Everybody hits a bump in the road every now and then. Bumps can be inconvenient but sometimes they are a real hindrance and they need to be dealt with. Sometimes you need a scalpel, sometimes you need a hammer - or using the civilized version: In some instances the proverbial mind opens to a simple chord, sometimes to a complex fugue. And this is where we come in. We help you decide on which piano piece will work best in a given situation, which piano player is probably the right for the job and how to coach him through your particular sonnet.

We are the conductor, not the player...

To play the best symphony possible, you need somebody who is in charge. Usually you are in charge of your life. But when it comes to litigation and competitive negotiation, you need two additional things: Neutrality and knowledge of the law. We bring both to your opera. After getting into the facts and all the details, we will decide on when, where and how this piece should be played. And, most importantly, we will also select the right players for your piece.

...but great conductors know all the right players...

Finding the right attorney is not easy if you are not a regular part of the play. If you haven't worked in the field, most probably you don't have the network to get to the right players. Dr. Marten has been with some of the most prestigious law firms in the world: Clifford Chance, Hengeler Mueller, Dewey LeBoef, just to name a few. This enables us to tap into a vast network of top notch lawyers to match to your specific need.

...and all the music sheets of each single player

The job of the conductor is fairly straight forward: Produce a masterpiece. In order to do so, he needs not 'only' to know all the music sheets of each player, but also how these interact, when which player has to join or leave and at which points a break is necessary to let all the pieces fall into place before you open the grand finale. In order to do so, we drill deep into the facts, sometimes even review thousands of single emails and other correspondence in order to retell a fact based story to a court or mediator so the neutral person gets the best view of the situation. With each attorney we discuss the matter at hand and comprise a central golden threat that leads to an end that is favorable for our client - you.

But we are selective about whom we work with

As you can imagine, time intensive high profile work like this means that you can only work on one case at a time, sometimes, very seldom, you can have one other ongoing proceeding in parallel as we like to keep our work quality outstanding. In addition to this, we only work on high profile matters that are of interest to us. Usually that means going against 'the bully' as we believe in justice and fairness and it gives us the right motivation for our work. And it boils down to: we are not for hire. We have an established client base that we advise. If you think that you have a case that is interesting and in addition believe that you are the kind of client that we should work with, you may reach out to introduce yourself and present the broad strokes of your case. If we agree with your evaluation, we get in touch with you.

P.S. Rates start at EUR 500 p.h. - if you don't feel your case is important enough to validate this, you might reconsider your evaluation
